New Orleans deploys AI to answer emergency 911 calls

New Orleans, Louisiana, has become the first US city to deploy an AI bot to handle emergency calls, replacing the human dispatcher at first contact. The city's dispatchers previously handled nearly 1,000 calls a day, and the AI is intended to ease their workload.
