Why dinosaurs never evolved into tiny creatures — mammals may be the answer

Dinosaurs dominated the land at massive sizes but almost never evolved into truly tiny animals — and new research suggests physiology alone doesn't explain this gap. Early mammals may have played a key role: while dinosaurs kept mammals from growing large, small mammals likely occupied ecological niches that could have supported mouse-sized dinosaurs, effectively blocking miniaturisation from the other end.
