Jellyfish swarm Baltic beaches earlier than usual this summer

An unusually early mass appearance of moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) has been observed on Baltic Sea beaches. Wind and sea currents following summer storms are washing them ashore in large numbers. Their arrival is traditionally seen as a sign that summer is drawing to a close.
