Iran and Oman near deal on reopening Strait of Hormuz

Iran says talks with Oman on reopening the Strait of Hormuz are nearing their final stages, but has issued new demands. Tehran insists the US must lift its naval blockade of the strait and Iranian ports and withdraw its military forces from the area. Iran also demands compensation for what it describes as violations of the June agreement.
