Colombia hit by two bombings a day after new president de la Espriella sworn in

Just one day after Abelardo de la Espriella was sworn in as Colombia's president, the country was struck by two bombing attacks. FARC dissidents used explosives to destroy a highway tollbooth near Cali, while a police officer was killed in a separate attack in the northern department of Cesar, around 1,000 kilometres away. De la Espriella, who campaigned on a hard-line approach to violence, vowed on social media there would be no leniency.
