Swimming in Tatra mountain lakes can cost you over 1,000 PLN in fines
As a heatwave hits the region, some tourists are cooling off in Tatra National Park lakes despite park regulations strictly prohibiting it. On the Polish side, fines can reach 1,000 PLN, while on the Slovak side of the Tatras the penalty can be as high as 300 euros (around 1,288 PLN). Park rangers have been stepping up patrols in response.
