Confederation party moves to scrap Poland's bottle deposit system

Confederation MPs have submitted a bill to the Sejm calling for the complete abolition of Poland's bottle deposit system, introduced in autumn 2025. The lead sponsor, MP Grzegorz Płaczek, argues the scheme proved "fundamentally flawed," hurts family finances and discriminates against elderly people and rural residents. The bill has been referred to parliamentary committees.
