Brazil to impose up to 24-hour hold on crypto transfers above $10,000 sent abroad, from 2027

Brazil will introduce new cryptocurrency rules effective January 1, 2027, targeting transactions above $10,000 sent to overseas providers or self-custody wallets. Such transfers can be placed on hold for up to 24 hours for fraud review. Other transfers flagged for scrutiny will also fall under the new rules.
