Iberian lynx returns to northern Iberian Peninsula after more than 100 years

The Iberian lynx has established itself in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula for the first time in over 100 years. The species was once on the brink of extinction and has been the subject of intensive conservation programmes. Its return to new territory is seen as a landmark success for rewilding and wildlife protection efforts.
