Sydney gardener fined $187,500 for felling 287 trees to improve mansion's harbour view

An Australian court fined Yi Wang $187,500 for organising and carrying out the illegal felling of 287 trees on council-owned foreshore bushland at Woodford Bay in Longueville, Sydney, in late 2023. The trees were removed to improve water views from a private harbourside mansion. The local council called it the "worst act of environmental vandalism in Lane Cove history."
