Verizon Outage: 13,000+ Reports as Voice Services Fail Along the US East Coast

While it doesn't seem as widespread as the massive Verizon outage in January 2026 , the big red carrier seems to be in the midst of an issue that's primarily impacting voice services along the East Coast of the United States.

Starting at about 4 PM ET — a little under an hour and a half ago — reports on services like DownDetector began spiking for Verizon, with comments on the site and on social media reporting that folks were having issues making calls. I'm even seeing this on my iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is connected to Visible — a Verizon MVNO — with many calls still failing.

Currently, DownDetector is showing over 13,000 reports of issues with Verizon, while other carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T are also seeing spikes. Verizon's Support account on X (formerly Twitter) is responding to some customers, and it confirms that there is an active issue "impacting voice services for wireless customers in some parts of the U.S."

So, to monitor and track this issue with Verizon, TechRadar is spinning up a live blog, and we've reached out to the carrier to ask for an update.

Right in line with a spike on Down Detector, Anthropic was quick to confirm it's investigating "elevated error rates across models" for Claude on its own status page. That update came at 12:54 PM ET, and we're waiting for further information from the AI platform.
