UK's prized Jurassic fossil collection sold to Abu Dhabi museum

A collection of 318 UK Jurassic fossils – including ichthyosaurs, fish and crustaceans, some potentially new species – has been sold to a museum in Abu Dhabi after British institutions failed to raise the eight-figure asking price. The collection was assembled by a private fossil collector. British experts have condemned the sale as a significant loss for the nation's scientific heritage.
