Reagan National Airport to build new $835 million concourse by 2031

Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport is planning a new nine-gate concourse for Terminal 1, replacing the iconic 1970s "banjo" rotunda. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority estimates the project at $835 million, with opening targeted for as early as 2031. Southwest Airlines, the primary Terminal 1 carrier, along with Air Canada, would likely use the new facility.
