Children aged 10 and over could veto change of their surname under new bill
Poland's Family Law Codification Commission has drafted a bill that would prevent parents from changing a child's surname without the child's consent once they reach the age of 10. The proposal also gives parents greater flexibility in creating double-barrelled surnames for their children. The changes are intended to strengthen children's rights in family matters.
