Animal rights activists block Morskie Oko route in protest against horse-drawn transport

Animal rights activists blocked the road at Palenica Białczańska in the Tatra Mountains on Saturday, opposing the continued use of horses to transport tourists to Morskie Oko. Around 200 people were queuing to travel up the route as police intervened to clear the way for horse-drawn carts. Protesters declared the action to be the first in a series of planned demonstrations in the Tatras.
