"Vampire" grave at Pień: mysterious object found in 17th-century woman's mouth

The 17th-century grave of a woman unearthed at Pień, buried with a sickle across her neck and a padlock at her foot to prevent her alleged return as a vampire, has yielded a new discovery. Latest analyses revealed an unusual discolouration inside the woman's mouth, suggesting a previously unknown object was placed there. Researchers believe the local community feared the deceased so intensely that they used an additional, hitherto unrecorded precaution.
