DR Congo holds its first census in 42 years
The Democratic Republic of Congo is conducting its first census in 42 years. For many Congolese citizens, the exercise is about identity and recognition — many have never been officially recorded by the state. The census is intended to help plan public services in one of Africa's largest and most populous countries.
