RWE drops US offshore wind projects in exchange for $1.2bn settlement with Trump administration

German energy giant RWE has agreed to abandon its US offshore wind projects in exchange for a $1.2 billion settlement with the Trump administration's Department of the Interior. The deal is one of several instances of the Trump administration paying energy companies to exit offshore wind investments in the United States.
