Polish Senate rejects Szpytma as IPN head — competition restarts

Poland's Senate voted on Thursday against appointing Dr. Mateusz Szpytma as head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), with 50 senators opposed, 38 in favour and one abstention. As a result, the entire selection process for the IPN's president must restart from scratch.
