Germans eating more meat, but domestic poultry production falls 3.2%

Meat production in Germany declined in the first half of the year, with poultry hit hardest — down 3.2% year-on-year. Paradoxically, after years of falling consumption, Germans are once again eating slightly more meat. Growing demand is therefore increasingly being met by imports rather than domestic production.
