USS Theodore Roosevelt becomes first carrier ready for MQ-25 Stingray drone ops

The USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) has become the first U.S. Navy supercarrier with a fully operational Unmanned Air Warfare Center (UAWC) capable of supporting the MQ-25 Stingray tanker drone. The details come from a Pentagon Modernized Selected Acquisition Report dated April 21, 2026, prepared as part of the proposed FY2027 budget. Initial operational capability for the MQ-25 is now set for 2029 after years of delays.
