An international team of palaeontologists discovered the remains of a Middle Triassic reptile, 244 million years old, at a site in southern China, with its internal organs still intact. The find is exceptional, as such preservation of soft tissue in fossils of this age is extremely rare. The discovery sheds new light on the biology of animals that lived on Earth during the Triassic period.
