A will isn't enough — property can still pass to the state under Polish inheritance law
Even when a person leaves a valid will in Poland, their property can still end up in state hands under certain circumstances. If the will's provisions are invalid or ineffective, statutory inheritance rules kick in — and if no statutory heirs are alive or willing to accept the estate, it passes to the municipality of the deceased's last residence or to the state. This legal loophole means a written testament alone does not guarantee assets reach intended beneficiaries.
