Microsoft Edge drops Manifest V2 support, cutting off uBlock Origin like Chrome

Microsoft Edge is ending support for the Manifest V2 extensions platform, following Google Chrome's earlier move this year. The change will disable the popular uBlock Origin adblocker and similar tools. Microsoft says only 58 extensions with meaningful usage on the Edge Add-On Store still rely on MV2, including just three notable ad blockers. Users will need to switch to Manifest V3-compatible alternatives.
