US appeals court halts Trump's $400 million White House ballroom construction
A federal appeals court on Friday ordered a halt to construction of the $400 million ballroom being built on the site of the demolished White House East Wing. The court ruled that a president cannot fundamentally reshape the White House without congressional approval. The ruling is a major setback for one of the Trump administration's flagship projects.
