Children's SIM-equipped smartwatches allow silent remote eavesdropping, researchers warn
New security research shows that cheap SIM-equipped smartwatches marketed as safe parent-child communication devices contain serious vulnerabilities. Even moderately skilled hackers can exploit the flaws to silently eavesdrop and spy on a child and their surroundings. Researchers have been warning about such risks in Chinese and Polish-branded children's smartwatches for some time.
