AI designs complete bacteriophage genome from scratch

Artificial intelligence has for the first time designed a complete genome for a bacteriophage — a virus that infects bacteria. The breakthrough in synthetic biology could open new paths toward developing tools to fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Previously, genome design was exclusively the domain of scientists working through lengthy trial-and-error processes.
