Scientists identify DNA traces of at least two previously unknown human lineages
Scientists have identified genetic traces of at least two previously unknown lineages within human DNA — populations or species that vanished thousands of years ago. The finding goes beyond the already-known genetic contributions of Neanderthals and Denisovans. The discovery suggests that the history of interbreeding between modern humans and other hominids was far more complex than previously thought.
