Trump admin pays nearly $4bn to cancel 12 offshore wind leases

The Trump administration has now persuaded developers to abandon 12 offshore wind leases, at a total cost to US taxpayers of nearly $4 billion. The latest cancellation — involving Germany's RWE — alone costs $1.2 billion.
