Jellyfish swarm Baltic beaches — no ecological disaster, just seasonal shift

Barrel jellyfish — specifically the species known as moon jellyfish (chełbia modra) — have appeared in unusually large numbers on Polish Baltic beaches. Their presence is not a sign of ecological disaster, experts say, but it is earlier than typical. The creatures are traditionally a seasonal signal marking the end of summer and the approach of autumn.
