Michigan clears lettuce after cyclospora parasite sickened 12,000 people

Michigan has lifted its lettuce warning after the cyclospora parasite infected around 12,000 people in the largest such outbreak in the US. The disease, spread through human feces, is not usually life-threatening but can cause severe dehydration requiring hospitalisation. New case numbers have now fallen significantly.
