Ukrainian MP proposes Ukrainian names for Polish cities; ex-ambassador calls it grotesque

Ukrainian MP Ihor Huz proposed that historical Ukrainian equivalents of Polish city names — such as Przemyśl and Chełm — be used widely in Ukrainian. Poland's former ambassador to Kyiv, Jan Piekło, called the idea "grotesque" and damaging to Polish-Ukrainian relations, saying that stoking political disputes over place names is particularly harmful given the current geopolitical situation.
