DiCaprio and Bezos commit $200 million to save 100 critically endangered species
Leonardo DiCaprio's Re:wild foundation and the Bezos Earth Fund have launched the Phoenix Species Project, committing a combined $200 million to conservation. The initiative is billed as the largest single philanthropic effort for endangered species, targeting the recovery of 100 critically endangered animals and plants across 30 countries. The project will work with scientists, conservationists and Indigenous communities, providing sustained investment rather than short-term grants.
