Telegram briefly pulled from App Store over CSAM content; Durov blames extortion scheme

Apple temporarily removed Telegram from the App Store after child sexual abuse material (CSAM) appeared on the platform, before restoring it shortly after. Telegram founder Pavel Durov claims the app was targeted by an organised group that deliberately posts such material on platforms and, if not paid a ransom, reports the app to stores to get it removed. Durov described it as an extortion scheme.
