US to deport Haitians after Trump administration strips TPS humanitarian protections
The Trump administration has officially revoked Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for hundreds of thousands of Haitians who had been living and working legally in the US for years. Federal judge Ana Reyes confirmed on Wednesday that her injunction blocking the move was no longer in force, following a Supreme Court ruling in June. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said "We're going after them right now," despite ongoing violence and political unrest in Haiti.
