Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to sign defence pact in Mecca on 7 August

Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are set to sign a defence cooperation agreement in Mecca on 7 August. The three are major Sunni states — Pakistan possesses nuclear weapons and Turkey has NATO's second-largest army. The pact could significantly reshape the balance of power in the region.
