South Korea recovers landmines washed from North Korea by monsoon floods

South Korean authorities recovered landmines believed to have been washed across the border from North Korea during monsoon flooding. The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) separating the two Koreas since the 1953 armistice is considered one of the most heavily mined areas on Earth. The mines pose a serious hazard to areas near the border.
