Yen rally fades after US-Japan intervention as markets await policy moves

A coordinated intervention by the US Treasury and the Bank of Japan initially lifted the yen to as low as 155 to the dollar, down from just above 163 beforehand. A week on, however, the rally has begun to fade. Markets are now focused on monetary policy signals that could determine the yen's next direction.
