Children born of rape in Sudan's war denied birth certificates, facing lifelong statelessness

In war-torn Sudan, babies born as a result of rape are frequently unable to obtain birth certificates, leaving them without legal identity for life. Without documents they are denied access to education, healthcare and civil rights. The problem affects thousands of children whose existence goes unrecognised by the state.
