Zed Beats: how home studios reinvented Zambian pop and gave youth a voice

Zambia's Zed Beats scene, built in home recording studios, has grown so popular that its artists are now used to mobilise voters during election campaigns. Though not known for overtly political music, the movement has given young Zambians a significant new voice and social influence.
