E-scooters three times more likely to cause brain injury than motorbikes, study finds
An analysis of accidents in England and Wales found e-scooter riders are three times more likely to suffer traumatic brain injuries than motorcyclists. Brain injuries accounted for more than a third of all adult e-scooter injuries, and riders also sustained more internal organ and blood vessel damage than motorcyclists or pedal cyclists. Women were found to be at particularly high risk of serious harm.
