300-metre asteroid to pass Earth on 10 August at a few lunar distances
On Monday 10 August, an asteroid up to 300 metres in size — comparable to the Eiffel Tower — will pass Earth at a distance of several Earth-Moon lengths. The flyby is being tracked by NASA's Center for Near Earth Object Studies. The object poses no threat to Earth.
