London new-home sales crash to 5,600 in first half as developers halt construction

Only 5,600 new homes were sold in London in the first half of the year, down by more than 3,000 compared to the same period the previous year and far below the 20,000-plus transactions recorded in 2020. Developers are responding by halting construction en masse, deepening the housing shortage in the British capital.
