Polish frigate ORP Wicher to be launched this week in multibillion-zloty navy contract

The Polish Navy frigate ORP Wicher will be christened on Wednesday and launched on Thursday at the PGZ Naval Shipyard. It is the first of three such frigates ordered by Poland and is scheduled to enter service by the end of 2029. The contract has revitalised the PGZ Naval Shipyard, which had faced an uncertain future.
