Venezuela transition talks begin without opposition leader Machado after week-long delay
US-backed talks between Venezuela's interim government and a faction of the opposition got underway Thursday after nearly a week of delays. The negotiations aim to restructure the country's political system and pave the way for eventual elections following years of political turmoil. Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado did not take part in the talks.
