Mexican avocado region faces export embargo after cartel attacks on inspectors

A Mexican region renowned for avocado production has been effectively placed under an export embargo after criminal cartels attacked workers from the export inspection service. The violence has paralysed inspection operations, disrupting the entire supply chain. Mexico is the world's largest avocado producer.
