American Airlines scraps free business class upgrades for elite flyers on long domestic routes

American Airlines has announced it will no longer offer free upgrades from economy to business class for elite frequent flyers on some of its longest domestic routes. The policy change removes one of the key perks that loyalty programme members previously enjoyed. It marks another rollback of benefits for the airline's most frequent customers.
