Orlen: excessively low fuel prices would risk supply shortages
Orlen CEO Ireneusz Fąfara explained that arbitrarily cutting fuel prices was not feasible because Poland imports 35% of its diesel. A price set too far below the import parity would halt foreign supplies and trigger shortages. Fąfara also said he supports a windfall-profits tax on the sector. The government is meanwhile considering reintroducing a relief package for drivers.
