AI creates 16 viable viruses never seen in nature

Scientists trained an AI on DNA libraries and asked it to generate viral genome blueprints. Sixteen of the resulting designs were viable, producing entirely new viruses not found in nature. The experiment raises both scientific promise and serious biosecurity concerns.
