Thousands of fish dead at Pilchowice Lake after Tauron drains it for repairs — authorities notify prosecutors

Energy company Tauron drained Pilchowice Lake in the Bóbr Valley to carry out repairs on the local dam, destroying the entire ecosystem and killing thousands of fish in the process. An inspection by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection (RDOŚ) revealed numerous irregularities and instances of negligence. The case has been referred to prosecutors.
